PortMiami has made history by unveiling the first Global Entry Enrollment Center at a cruise port, facilitating the Global Entry application process for international cruise travelers. The new PortMiami Global Entry Enrollment Center, situated in Cruise Terminal D, offers a convenient location for cruisers to complete the interview portion of their Trusted Traveler program application.

Designed as a proactive initiative to enhance the application process for international cruise travelers, the center is set to expedite Global Entry enrollment. Carlos Martel, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Director of Field Operations at the Miami-Tampa Field Office, emphasized the benefits of this endeavor for those departing on a cruise.

Cruise passengers, both those processing new applications and renewals, can schedule appointments at the PortMiami Global Enrollment Center. This novel approach aims to streamline the Global Entry process, providing a valuable service to those embarking on international cruise journeys.

Global Entry offers a faster customs experience for travelers returning from international trips by utilizing automated kiosks. Approved Global Entry members also gain access to TSA PreCheck. The program requires a $100 application fee, valid for five years, and nonrefundable. Some credit cards offer reimbursement for the application fee.

To apply, travelers initiate the process online and subsequently schedule an in-person interview. In select locations, CBP offers an enrollment on arrival option, allowing applicants to complete their interviews upon landing in an international terminal without the need for an appointment.

PortMiami’s introduction of the Global Entry Enrollment Center aligns with its record-breaking year, hosting 7.299 million passengers. The cruise terminal serves prominent cruise lines, including Oceania Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. The port is poised to welcome the world’s largest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas, next year.
